Mansoor Ladha is an award-winning journalist, editorial columnist, travel writer and author of five nonfiction books: Canadian experience, Aga Khan: Bridge between East and West, Off the Cuff, Memoirs of a Muhindi: Fleeing East Africa for the West and A Portrait in Pluralism: Aga Khan’s Shia Ismaili Muslims. He has been a recipient of Canadian Governor General’s Award, Silver Quill Award by the Alberta Weekly Newspapers Association and Citizen of the Year Award by the Town of Morinville, Alberta.
He has travelled extensively all over the world as a travel writer and has had travel features published in Canadian newspapers and travel magazines. He has also been a regular editorial commentator for several leading Canadian newspapers.
Mansoor has held senior editorial positions in newspapers in Canada as a copy editor with the Edmonton Journal and the Calgary Herald, copy editor with the Daily nation in Nairobi, Kenya and features editor with the Standard in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. He was the only newspaper publisher/owner of the colour of mainstream newspaper in Canada publishing two award-winning weeklies, The Morinville Mirror and Redwater Tribune for 25 years.
He has studied for B.A. in political science at University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania and journalism at the Thomson Editorial Studies Centre in Cardiff, Wales. He is a member of several writers and media organizations and has served on leading boards, public bodies and community organizations. including as chairman of the Edmonton Shia Ismaili Muslim community.
